What do you say?
With the iPhone or iPad is updated, and the latest version of Spotify installed, you do not need to do anything special. Activate Siri, as you normally do, and give commands like “Play in Spotify NF.”
Ve been able to achieve the same thing by saying ‘with Spotify’ and ‘use Spotify.’ On one occasion, Siri misheard me and thought I said “Play NF Spotify” and still work. The key is to make sure to say Spotify at the end of the command, even though the official guidance Spotify is to use “in Spotify,” so if you have trouble getting an order to work, try to say that.
According to Spotify, several Siri commands supported include:
- Play a song / artist / album / station on Spotify
- Playing a personal playlist in Spotify
- Personally curated playlist play (eg, Discover Weekly) in Spotify
- Play some new releases on Spotify
- Playing podcasts on Spotify
Additionally, if you’re listening to a song and want to know the name, you can ask Siri, “What song is on Spotify?” or, “What’s playing on Spotify?” and get information at this time.
Spotify control with Siri is a great addition to iOS 13 and iPadOS, joining other new features such as systemwide dark mode, which is much better and keyboard Apple Maps the new movement that finally lets you swipe to typing.
